TEMPE- After having another practice on Thursday in preparation of the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham spoke highly about his relationship with wide receiver Jordyn Tyson.
According to Matt Zenitz and Chris Karpman of CBS Sports, Tyson is set to enter the 2026 NFL Draft and will not be available for the Sun Devils' bowl matchup against the Duke Blue Devils.
“Unbelievable player," Dillingham said of Tyson Thursday. "He’s a special special person. We spoke for 15 minutes last night just on the phone, and he's such a great kid. I couldn’t be happier for somebody to achieve success in this game than him.”
In ESPN's latest NFL Mock Draft, Tyson is projected to be selected at seventh overall in the 2026 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. He could reunite with one of his teammates, running back Cam Skattebo, who made a name for himself in the Peach Bowl back in January.
It was also announced later in the day that senior safety Xavion Alford has declared for the 2026 NFL Draft, joining fellow Arizona State teammates Tyson and tight end Chamon Metayer.
The Sun Devils are also dealing with notable names, such as quarterback Sam Leavitt, entering the transfer portal after an eventful 2025 season filled with challenges in scheduling and injuries.
The question is who Dillingham and Arizona State will go after while filling in big shoes of Leavitt and Tyson in the offseason.
