Arizona State received some hopeful news just hours ahead of kickoff against Colorado on Saturday.

The team's top wide receiver, Jordyn Tyson, is expected to return from a hamstring injury and play against his former team, per ESPN's Pete Thamel. Tyson will reportedly take warm ups and suit up for kickoff if there are no setbacks.

Tyson hasn't played since ASU's Oct. 18 upset victory over Texas Tech where he suffered the hamstring ailment. He's accrued 628 yards and eight touchdowns on 57 catches so far this season.

The return of Tyson couldn't come at a better time for the Sun Devils as they need to take care of business against a basement-dwelling Colorado team - which sent Tyson packing back in 2023. ASU still has a shot at the Big 12 title game but has to win its final two games and get some outside help.

Tyson recorded 470 receiving yards and four TDs for the Buffs on 22 receptions during his freshman season in 2022. When current head coach Deion Sanders arrived in Boulder that offseason, Tyson transferred to Tempe and quickly became a staple in head coach Kenny Dillingham's offense.

He's now projected to be the first wide receiver taken in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.

Tyson's hamstring injury kept him out the last three games. He's only missed one other game in his Sun Devil career - the 2025 Peach Bowl after breaking his collarbone in last year's Territorial Cup.

Last time Tyson took a snap for ASU, quarterback Sam Leavitt was under center but the season starter is gone for the year after undergoing Lisfranc surgery on his foot. Now Tyson will have to get used to backup Jeff Sims who has impressed in his previous two starts for the program.

We'll find out for sure what Tyson's gametime status is ahead of the 6pm MST kickoff in Boulder.
