The last time Arizona State held a spring practice, it was open to the public to simulate a game environment and increase competition. Apparently, returning to a closed session on Tuesday led to a decline in competition.

As has been a recurring theme through these practices, tight ends coach Jason Mohns is drawing rave reviews for his position group.

The Sun Devils are looking forward to bringing back all of their key players on the defensive line, which figures to be a position of strength this season.

Two players, in particular, that are expected to make a big jump are CJ Fite and Zac Swanson.

Several wide receivers turned heads during Tuesday's practice, including freshman Zechariah Sample, one of many young receivers on this roster who could step into a larger role in 2025.

Transfer receiver Jalen Moss is widely expected to be the team's top receiving target after star Jordyn Tyson, and he keeps showing why.

One receiver that consistently flashed on Tuesday was Noble Johnson, who transferred from Clemson this past winter.

The receivers didn't have a clean sweep, though. Cornerback Plas Johnson made a play on the ball at one point.

Turnovers are a key piece of the defensive formula in Tempe, and the linebackers stressed that with a drill designed on forcing fumbles.

On the flip side, the offense was focused on preventing fumbles from happening.

Despite that, Kenny Dillingham made it clear that he was not pleased with his team's effort, specifically taking aim at the offensive side of the ball.
Kenny Dillingham wasn't pleased with ASU's performance at Tuesday's practice:

"That was the worst last two periods of offensive football I've seen in a long time. We couldn't snap the football. pic.twitter.com/RVmh7urUfh
Dillingham has made comments like this before, usually spurring a strong reaction in the next practice, so it will be interesting to monitor the team's performance on Thursday.
