Arizona State concluded just their second practice of spring ball on Thursday, but Kenny Dillingham already wants to ratchet up the intensity. He announced that Saturday's practice will be open to the public.
ASU's Saturday practices will be open to the public. Kenny Dillingham said fan presence will help limit complacency:

Dillingham's explanation for the change was simple:
"It's just, the more you can make your players - there's a reason you guys are out here, other than to get you guys content - our players, things are getting filmed. Have that day off, lose in a one on one rep, it's going on social media. Like, you can't just take a day off, because everybody is going to see it. You can't just sit out a rep. And in today's day and age, you need as many things that can motivate guys, guys gotta know there's pressure always on them in practice.
Practice cannot become complacent, it has to be like a game. So having a thousand fans out here on the field watching and cheering, it just gets the energy level up, it puts the pressure on a little bit, for some of the younger guys. It's what we're trying to create every day in practice, just a little bit on steroids. "
The coach's desire to recreate that game atmosphere in practice so early into the spring ball schedule is also a bit of a call to action for the fans: Dillingham wants to see 1,000 fans show up Saturday to support their Sun Devils, if not more.
The practice will be held at the Kajikawa Practice Fields starting at 6:00 PM.
