The NFL's annual combine is here and under way, having kicked off Thursday. Top players from schools all around the nation have arrived in Indianapolis to take part in athletic tests, drills, and interviews with various NFL scours and executives.

Arizona State only had one player receive an invite this year, but that man is none other than star running back Cam Skattebo. Having already become a legend in his own right, Skattebo arrived in Indianapolis coming off an impressive season.

He finished the year with 1,712 rushing yards, 543 receiving yards, and 24 total touchdowns on the year. He also threw a 42-yard touchdown pass in the Peach Bowl, just one reason why Skattebo is already one of the most iconic players in program history.

Skattebo's insane rushing total was second only to Boise State's Ashton Jeanty, who finished second in Heisman votes. Jeanty is widely considered the unquestioned top running back in the draft, but the title of RB2 is very much up for grabs.

Skattebo hopes to leave no doubt in talent evaluators' minds as to who that is. While Skattebo finished behind Jeanty in rushing yards, he made more of an impact in the passing game, finishing third in the nation in receiving yards for a running back and leading his position group in yards after the catch.

Still, some feel that Skattebo may not be as polished as other backs in this draft class. Some draft analysts have pointed to his high usage too: Skattebo took 1,130 career carries in his four years and caught an additional 111 passes. There will be concern about how much tread is left on the tires.

Nevertheless, Skattebo has NFL caliber talent and an elite work ethic, both of which will be on display Saturday when running backs are up for testing at the combine. A strong day for Skattebo could catapult him up draft boards.
