There is no denying that the 2022 recruiting cycle was rough for the Arizona State football program, but there are still a few players in the class that stand out.

Currently five recruits – including two junior college players – are enrolled as Sun Devils and will be ready for the beginning of summer workouts. Four have signed Letters of Intent and should be with the Arizona State football team for the start of the new season.

Split evenly between the offensive and defensive sides of the ball with four of each and one kicker, the recruiting class of 9 is small and is ranked No. 103 in the nation by 24/7 Sports.

That ranking places ASU dead last in the PAC-12 with the next closest conference rival being University of Washington at No. 95. In-state rival University of Arizona had a stellar year on the recruiting trail and snuck into the top twenty-five recruiting classes at No. 22 with 23 recruits and bolstered by five 4-stars.

It is, unfortunately, the case that pending NCAA allegations against the Sun Devil football program put a hamper on the recruiting trail and made ASU a less-appealing option than other major Power 5 programs.

Given the problem at wide receiver facing the Sun Devils this upcoming season, it is disappointing that there are none to be found on this list and only one has been added through the transfer portal. (More to come in a future list of top transfers.)

But enough of comparing the Sun Devils to their conference foes and complaining about receivers, let’s take a look at three of the top incoming recruits from this class and what they can bring to Sun Devils football in 2022.
