ASU softball had another comfortable win in the Mary Nutter Classic defeating Liberty 6-0 on a shutout from G Juarez and four RBIs from the Hackbarth sisters.

The Sun Devils improved their record to 12-2 on the season with a 6-0 win over Liberty on the third day of the Mary Nutter Classic.

After throwing a gem against Mississippi State Thursday afternoon, starting pitcher G Juarez threw her second shutout of the season shutting down the Flames lineup.

Juarez went the distance allowing three hits and three walks to go with 10 strikeouts earning her fourth win of the season.

It was another good day at the plate for Arizona State scoring six runs on seven hits with four of those runs driven in by the Hackbarth sisters.

Catcher Maddi Hackbarth opened up the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning for her fifth home run of the season.

Later in the game, outfielder Kindra Hackbarth drove in an important two-run double in the seventh inning to essentially put the game away.

The other run-scoring plays came in the fourth inning as first baseman Danielle Gibson hit a solo home run for her third home run of the season.

After Hackbarth’s double made it 5-0 Sun Devils, an RBI sac bunt from Jade Gortarez gave ASU an insurance run.

Arizona State continues to receive contributions from the whole lineup as six Sun Devils recorded hits Saturday night.

ASU will wrap up play in the Mary Nutter Classic Sunday afternoon with a meeting versus against Cal State Fullerton, who sport a 6-6 record.
