Coming off of a very tough loss to No. 16 Oregon, ASU volleyball is hoping to pick up their first conference win on Senior Night against Oregon State.

This is the final match at home this season for the Devils, which means they will be honoring the careers of four seniors. Halle Harker, Blair Robalin, Isabel Miller, and Oly Okaro. Coach Moreno talked about what this senior class means to this team.

“We are going to miss them and I am going to miss them and I wish I had another Halle Harker next year but I think they are ready to be great at anything they want to be,” Moreno said.

In the last meeting between the two teams in Corvallis, the Beavers proved to be too much for the Sun Devils even with Okaro’s 21 kills OSU took it in four sets.

If the Sun Devils want to pick up that very elusive first win then they will need to play at their best throughout the entire match.

When they met last the Devils won the first set 29-27 before falling off in sets two and three losing those 25-17 and 25-16 respectively.

Another key for the Devils is going to be slowing down Mary-Kate Marshall who is one of the best hitters in the Pac-12 and had 22 kills in the last meeting between the teams. Coach Carlos Moreno gave us his thoughts on stopping Marshall:

“We are going to go after her and if they are in system they are awesome and she is dangerous so we are going to pay attention to her” Moreno added “If we start well and especially get her out of the system because she is the go-to so if they are in system she is kind of unstoppable.”

Another thing that could be worrisome to the Devils is that star senior Olouma Okaro will be a game-time decision tonight after missing the Oregon game with a shoulder injury. The first serve between Oregon State and Arizona State will be at 7 p.m. MT.
