Arizona State and BU ended in a scoreless draw despite loads of chances for both teams.
The Sun Devils came out aggressive outshooting the Terriers 10-2 in the first half with their first chance coming in the 14th minute.

One of the best chances game at the half-hour mark with Purfield again whipping in a cross to forward Olive Jones in the six-yard box and her back-heel shot was saved by BU goalkeeper Hannah Ciolek.
In the second half, Boston University controlled the game outshooting the Sun Devils 5-4 and creating far better chances.
ASU goalkeeper Nicole Panas made her second straight start and was a caught in a sticky situation in the 57th minute as a collision between Panas and a BU forward causing the ball just to be in the box.
Panas was able to get it cleared as she was active all night coming out of the box and clearing long balls.
The Terriers would have two more great chances as in the 68th minute a shot went off the post and then in the 83rd minute, BU forward Erin Neville had the best effort of the game sending a curling shot just over the top corner.
The match headed to overtime but there was only one chance created and that was from the Terriers in the 100th minute as Sun Devil defender Angela Boyle got a crucial block to send the match to a second overtime.
The Sun Devils record is now 1-1-1 after the scoreless draw.
“The game started where we completely controlled the match and we were playing good soccer,” head coach Graham Winkworth said. “We created enough chances in the first half to win three matches, but unfortunately we didn’t take advantage of that.”
The Sun Devils have opened the season with three overtime matches and Winkworth was asked about what the team needs to do in order to finish games in regulation.
“We got to have that ‘killer instinct’ in front of goal and right now we got players who are capable of scoring goals… scoring goals is the hardest thing and clearly we are seeing that right now,” Winkworth said.
Purfield talked after the game about the team’s chemistry in only third game as a Sun Devil
“We are just going to get better from here, and on another day those [chances] will be going in,” Purfield said. “It’s unfortunate we didn’t win the game today, but we’ll learn from it and get it right next time.”
