After losing 2-1 versus Ohio State in overtime last week, ASU soccer reversed their fortunes with a 2-1 overtime win of their own at San Diego State.
After a tough overtime loss in their season-opener versus Ohio State, ASU soccer was looking to build off the positives from their 4-0 exhibition victory over Beijing Normal University.
The Sun Devils played their first road game of the season at San Diego State, where Arizona State left with a 2-1 overtime victory.
It was an evenly matched game as both had nine shots in regulation and 11 fouls for the game.
The tenth shot for the Sun Devils was the golden goal as Jessica Raybe scored her first goal of the season firing in a pass from Olive Jones with only eight seconds remaining in the first overtime.

Raybe received the pass across goal in the box and was left unmarked on the back post finishing the chance over Aztecs goalkeeper Gabby English.
It was a tight regulation with Arizona State scoring the breakthrough goal in the 42nd minutes when Natalie Stephens headed in a cross from Christina Edwards on the back post.
Stephens began the combination play sending a through ball to Edwards, who then crossed it in to Stephens for her first goal of the season.
After having secured the lead at halftime, San Diego State started pressuring ASU in the second half and was creating a lot of chances.
The Aztecs scored the equalizer in the 68th minute as Angela Mitchell scored off the bench for her first goal of the season on a pass from forward Aliyah Utush.
ASU stayed disciplined and were able to force the game into overtime capitalizing on the only chance in the added time.
Arizona State started their third goalkeeper in three games as Nicole Panas got the start in net finishing the match with three saves all coming in the first half.
This win marked the first for head coach Graham Winkworth as the Sun Devils evened their record 1-1-0.

Arizona State will be back in action next Friday as they’ll kick off the Sun Devil Desert Classic versus Boston University followed by a match versus UCF Sunday.
