ASU Football: Sun Devils Ranked as Worst QB Situation in Pac-12
Don’t worry coach, we feel the same way.
Over the past few weeks, ESPN has kicked their college football coverage into high gear. Their Pac-12 coverage has featured ranking teams based on different positions. Today’s position of choice was quarterback, and it seems that ESPN doesn’t have faith in the Sun Devils.
ASU was ranked dead last in the Pac-12 when it came to the quarterback situation, here is the author’s reasoning.
“The Sun Devils have the distinction as the only team in the conference without a quarterback on the roster who has attempted a pass in a college game.”
While it is true that Manny Wilkins has been on the field during the game, he has only rushed the ball on a designed quarterback run play, he has never thrown a pass.
As for Brady White, he is in a worse situation having never stepped on the field.
But, is it such a bad thing that ASU’s quarterback battle is between two guys who have never thrown a pass during a college game?

It’s had to say. On one hand, you have a situation where whoever the starting quarterback is will be a face that the opposing team has never seen before, This gives ASU an element of surprise that they didn’t have last season with Mike Bercovici. On the other hand, ASU will have a quarterback out there that has never been in a real game situation and it is realistic to assume that they will probably make some mistakes due to their inexperience.
What do you think? Is ASU indeed the worst quarterback situation in the Pac-12? Leave your comments below!
