ASU Football’s go-to receiver last season, Devin Lucien, graduated leaving a vacancy to a very coveted position for a wide-receiver. So who will get the honor this season of being the go-to receiver?

This question is a hard one to answer since there are a lot of good candidates this season, but the easy answer would be Tim White.

White comes into this season with high expectations after a very good 2015 season. He ended last season with 633 receiving yards along with eight touchdowns.

Looking at stats alone, he was the second best receiver in terms of productivity behind Lucien.

It is easy to assume that White will step into the role of go-to receiver since he was the best receiver last season behind Lucien, but there is also a freshman who could give him a run for his money.

The receiver’s name? N’keal Harry.

Not only was Harry was the top recruit for ASU in their 2016 recruiting class, he also was considered the top recruit in the state of Arizona according to 247 sports.

Harry does have the physical advantage over White. Harry is 6’4″ and 220 pounds while White is only 5’11” and 175 pounds.

Harry’s size makes him a bigger target and the starting quarterback (whoever that may be) may feel more comfortable throwing it to him compared to White.

White’s advantage over Harry is that he has more experience than Harry.

Harry, being a freshman, hasn’t been in a college football game yet while White has already proved that he has what it takes to be a productive receiver for ASU.

Finally, there is the possibility of a different receiver not named White or Harry bursting onto the scene and becoming the guy.

The success of this upcoming season won’t be determined by the success of a go-to receiver, but having a go-to that is as successful as Lucien was could give ASU the push they need to be one of the best teams in the Pac-12.
