As is often the mantra in sports, "Winning is good."

Never is that more true than when those wins come at the expense of your in-state rival.

Arizona State pulled off the weekend series win down the road in Tucson, and with it claimed a win in the season-long Territorial Cup Series, leading 3 games to 1 with one game yet to be played on April 13th from Phoenix Municipal Stadium.

The national polls are taking notice as well, with D1Baseball.com listing the Sun Devils at No. 20 in Monday's rankings update.

Big 12 representation is strong as the Devils are joined once again by UCF and West Virginia, the two schools flipping spots in the rankings after the Knights took two of three games from the Mountaineers in Morgantown. A series with the Knights looms large for the Sun Devils on May 1-3 in Orlando, and could have huge implications on the Big 12 standings heading in to the conference tournament.

D1Baseball.com isn't the only outlet showing the Sun Devils some love, Baseball America has the Devils at No. 19 and Perfect Game at No. 18 through the first 8 weeks of the season.

Arizona State leads the Big 12 in wins at 23-9 to this point in the season, but at 7-5 in conference play still find themselves in an 8-team middle of the pack in the standings. 6 games in 7 days presents another tough scheduling stretch as the Devils will head across town to play at Grand Canyon University on April 7th before coming back to Phoenix Municipal Stadium to complete the home-and-home series with UNLV on April 8th. A weekend conference series (April 10-12) against Utah will hopefully create some positive distance in the standings before the finale of the 2026 Territorial Cup Series on April 13th. All games except for Tuesday at GCU will be available to stream on ESPN+.
