After much waiting an excitement for his arrival, head coach Greg Powers announced that forward Jack Beck would miss the rest of the season after undergoing season-ending surgery.

"Beck is going to be out for the year. His injury ended up requiring surgery. We tried to get around it and figure out a way to see if he could play. It's just not going to happen."
Head coach Greg Powers

The chemistry of the top line of Cullen Potter, Bennett Schimek, and Cruz Lucius has been paying huge dividends, producing the highest scoring line in all of college hockey. However the loss of a top-six forward in Beck hurts the roster depth that has already seen the departure of forward Justin Cloutier, who returned to juniors with the Soo Greyhounds after playing in four games before sustaining an E. Coli infection, and defenseman Austin Zemlak, returning to juniors with the Edmonton Oil Kings for more playing time.

The Sun Devils will get a boost to the lineup with forward Sean McGurn and defenseman Anthony Dowd returning from their injuries, but will lose forward Johnny Waldron after he sustained an injury on Saturday against Air Force. The absence of Beck and Waldron could see the season debut for Tony Achille on the 4th line.

After a delayed start to the season, Beck recorded 5 goals and 3 assists in 10 games. Coach Powers expressed his confidence that Beck would return for the 2026-27 season.

The Sun Devils return to the ice on Friday and Saturday for NCHC action hosting the Miami RedHawks. Friday's game will start at 7:00pm, with Saturday being a 5:00pm start.
