After an impressive 4-1 victory last night over the Miami RedHawks, Arizona State will take to the ice in matinee action today looking to secure the conference opening road sweep.
Jack Beck was as advertised in his debut, scoring a late power play goal that put the game out of reach with under a minute to play, while Bennett Schimek led all Sun Devil skaters with a 3 point night, registering a goal and an assist. Connor Hasley had a bounceback night in goal, stopping 19 of the 20 RedHawk shots after giving up an early goal.
A series sweep would set the tone for the season in a much different way from their NCHC debut last year as the Sun Devils did not claim their first conference win until a 3-2 win over Omaha at home on November 16th, starting an 8 game winning streak that lasted until January 11th.
