An Arizona State men's basketball game is not scheduled in either the morning or evening of Wednesday, February 25, 2026, after a bitter defeat the previous night against the TCU Horned Frogs.
On Tuesday, February 24, Arizona State lost the game, finding it unable to overcome a second-half onslaught by TCU. However, foul trouble and interior defense gaps kept the Sun Devils down despite instances of excellent guard work.
The discipline turned out to be a significant problem for ASU. The Sun Devils had 29 personal fouls, which took TCU to the free-throw line 40 times. Eight of the nine Arizona State players who got on the floor all ended the game with two or more fouls, and freshman center Massamba Diop fouled out, which reduced the ASU paint-side options.
TCU took over at the beginning of the second half with a 9–0 streak, which rapidly extended the margin to the teens. Arizona State fought hard but never quite made the ground with the Horned Frogs always responding to every thrust.
The frontcourt at TCU was a constant issue. Micah Robinson had the game-high points of 20, and Xavier Edmonds scored 17, getting numerous opportunities around the rim to exploit the undermanned ASU defense.
Maurice Odum played a great all-around game, scoring 21 points and 10 assists in a double-double. Nevertheless, he could not make the effort to overcome the efficiency and control of the game tempo by TCU. The defeat also revealed a continuing weakness of Arizona State, specifically its inability to control fouls and defend on key stretches.
