Sun Devil Volleyball clinches Big 12 regular season title, first in program history

Arizona State volleyball clinched the Big 12 regular season title Wednesday with still one match remaining. By virtue of No. 11 Kansas falling to No. 24 BYU, the No. 9 ranked Sun Devils earned the program's first conference title in program history.
ASU had already clinched a berth in the NCAA Tournament and are expected to be a top seed. The selection show is set for Sunday, Dec. 1.
At 28-2 the Sun Devils have five wins over ranked opponents and their 16 conference wins (16-1 in league play) are the most in a single season in program history.
ASU volleyball claims first conference title in school's Big 12 era
Arizona State was one of ten schools to depart the Pac-12 in 2023 and one of four to join the Big 12 in 2024. In just the university's first six months as members, multiple Sun Devil teams are in contention for conference titles.
Volleyball became the first to clinch the conference while football leads with one regular season game remaining.
The Volleyball team's historic season wasn't just capped with a conference title. Graduate student Mary Schroll was selected in the second round of the Pro Volleyball Federation Draft on Monday to the Vegas Thrill. She becomes the first Sun Devil player drafted in program history.
The Sun Devils lead the conference in opponent hitting percentage (.156) and middle blocker Claire Jeter tops the league leaders with a .435 hitting percentage.
ASU has only lost 11 sets all year and look to be a serious threat entering the NCAA Tournament. The program has never won a national title but that could change this year with this special group of players.
ASU rounds out the regular season against UCF on Thursday in Orlando, looking to end on a high note and extend the program record to 17 conference wins.
