No. 21 Arizona State is coming off their Week 6 bye with a pretty important matchup awaiting them. No, the Texas Tech game is still another week away but all focus will be on Salt Lake City and the Utah Utes.

Sun Devil fans, however, are already an anxious mess with news of quarterback Sam Leavitt's injury designation being downgraded from probable to doubtful overnight Thursday.

It's unclear what the exact nature of Leavitt's injury is but it appears as if backup passer Jeff Sims is in line to get the start on Saturday. That'll completely alter the expectations for the Sun Devil offense as it looks to not lose momentum in a tight Big 12 race.

Last time ASU had to go without Leavitt in a road Big 12 matchup was Oct. 19 last year when the team fell 24-14 at Cincinnati. The Sun Devils also already had one loss entering that contest and then went on their historic run to the College Football Playoff. Could it be Deja vu all over again?
