Coming off Saturday's series sweeping win over BYU, the Sun Devils are back in action tonight for the first game of a two game series against Long Beach State.
Saturday's win saw an offensive explosion as the Devils were powered by a school record eight home runs, including back-to-back home runs TWICE in the bottom of the second inning from Isaiah Jackson and Brody Briggs.

Despite the sweep, the RPI did not favor the Devils, who remain at 46 overall with 12 games remaining on the schedule. The Dirtbags shouldn't present that difficult of a challenge at 179, but midweek games have been an enigma this season. Arizona State is 5-6 to this point in midweek games, with an opportunity to get a couple of important tune-ups before going on the road to Baylor this weekend.
Long Beach State has fallen from the Mike Weathers Era of the 2000's, and looks on track to miss the postseason for the 7th consecutive season, excluding the abbreviated 2020 season. Losers of two straight and six of their last ten games, the Dirtbags will be looking for their first non-conference win since March 18th at home against Loyola Marymount.
