After a second straight mercy rule win on Tuesday, finishing off the sweep is the only thing on the Devils minds before going on the road to Baylor this weekend.
The offense has been firing on all cylinders over the last eight games, scoring at least six runs in each game for a total of 80 runs during this 6-2 stretch.
With wins against #51 RPI Texas Tech (2-1 series win) and #49 BYU and the lone other loss coming at the hands of #85 Grand Canyon, the Devils enter tonight ranked #44 in the RPI. Current projections would put the Devils as the #3 seed in the Irvine Regional, with a somewhat weak remaining schedule to further boost the RPI before the Big XII tournament.
A win tonight would give the Devils a little ego boost on multiple fronts, not only moving over .500 in midweek games this season, but reaching the 30 win plateau for the third straight season and fourth time in the last five years.
