In case you've been offline for the last 24 hours, Michigan has set their sights on Kenny Dillingham for their recently-vacated head coaching job. It prompted a report Saturday morning that Arizona State is "close" to a new deal for the head coach, offering some peace of mind to Sun Devil fans everywhere.

Not long after that report, Dillingham led his team in practice ahead of the Sun Bowl. In his media session afterwards, Dillingham was asked about his message to fans amid all the speculation, and the coach gave a classic Kenny Dillingham answer:

"I think it's a testament to what [President Michael Crow]'s done, what [Athletics Director Graham Rossini]'s done, the city selling out, the kids who chose to come back here when they could've gone other places. I think it's a testament to everybody; I know every coach says that in this scenario but it actually is, it's a testament to everybody.

"When you're the leader of a group of people, you're not making individual decisions. You're making group decisions, you're making group thought. I think, for me, I know where I stand and I know what I want. As the leader of a group, it's my job to take care of groups of people, not just Kenny Dillingham."

It sure sounds like Dillingham just turned down the Michigan job, if it was ever actually on the table. He previously said this season he was "never leaving" but that was before Michigan came open.

In his first public statements since that changed, though, Dillingham hasn't seemed to change his tune one bit. He sounds like a Sun Devil for life.
