The non-conference appetizer of the season is complete for the time being, now comes the first taste of the main course.

The Sun Devils have scuffled to a 2-4-0 start of the year, but hit their early bye week at an opportune time for defenseman Brasen Boser to be healthy, and for the highly anticipated debut of forward Jack Beck.

Standing in their way, the undefeated (6-0-0) Miami RedHawks, coming off an overtime sweep of independent Lindenwood last weekend. Miami is off to their best start since 2007-08 when they shot off to an 8-0-0 start en route to a 33-8-1 final record, losing in the Northeast Regional final to eventual champion Boston College.

Arizona State is no stranger to going on the road to take on undefeated teams. Just last season, the Devils traveled to Denver to take on the defending champion Denver Pioneers, 12-0-0 to open the season and on a 21 game winning streak before getting swept by the NCHC newcomers.

Arizona State will need to channel that same magic this weekend in hopes of getting their season back on track as the first month comes to a close. Success is on the side of the Sun Devils in recent history, sweeping Miami in Oxford last season by scores of 7-1 and 4-1.

Be sure to watch the Sun Devils open NCHC play with some Friday matinee action. Puck drop will be at 4pm Arizona time from Goggin Ice Center in Oxford, OH. This game will be available by streaming only on NCHC.tv (subscription required). Tyler Paley and Alex Coil will carry the action on the radio waves on Fox Sports 910 Phoenix.
