Former Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt has found a new home.
According to multiple sources, Leavitt is headed to Baton Rouge to play for the LSU Tigers, who has recently named Lane Kiffin as its head coach.
Last month, Leavitt entered the transfer portal after ending the 2025 season early for the Sun Devils when he underwent surgery on his ankle. He also did not show up to the team's banquet, and head coach Kenny Dillingham told the spectators that he 'wished him well in whatever his future may hold.'
Through two seasons with Arizona State, he appeared in 20 games, was 361-for-589 passing for 4,513 yards, and recorded 34 touchdowns.
He was also a key contributor to the Sun Devils' Big 12 Championship run and led the team to an appearance in the College Football Playoff in 2024.
Leavitt, wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, and running back Cam Skattebo became a trio to watch in Tempe during that year as well.
To fill the void for quarterback, Arizona State brought in Cutter Boley, who was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team in his first of two seasons with Kentucky.
The program has been busy acquiring big names from the transfer portal in the offseason, such as two wide receivers in the top 5, Omarion Miller and Reed Harris. They also brought in offensive tackle Luke Baklenko and running back David Avit to fill the voids on the offensive end.
As Dillingham and the Sun Devils turn the page to the next chapter, Leavitt will forever be remembered for his contributions to the revitalization of the football program for the past two years.
