Arizona State is still reeling from their 42-10 loss on the road to Utah last week, which saw them drop entirely out of the AP's Top 25 rankings. The road isn't getting any easier, with undefeated No. 7 Texas Tech visiting Mountain America Stadium this week.
It's the kind of game the Sun Devils desperately need quarterback Sam Leavitt, who was described as "week-to-week" with an undisclosed foot injury after missing the Utah game, back for. And on Wednesday, a report from ESPN's Pete Thamel brought to hope to fans all throughout the Valley.

Getting Leavitt back for this game is huge, and the implications of it will greatly improve Arizona State's chances of upsetting the Red Raiders. It still won't be easy, but Leavitt at least gives the Sun Devils a fighting chance. His surprise absence last week caught the team, and backup Jeff Sims, off guard.
Our own Andrew Hayslett reported earlier in the day on Leavitt's practice availability, as well as comments from head coach Kenny Dillingham hinting at the quarterback's return.
