Former Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo has quickly become a fan favorite across the NFL for the quicky antics Sun Devil fans already knew and loved him for. His unfortunate season-ending ankle injury has given him a lot of free time to continue building upon that fun reputation and the internet has been eating it up.

The fourth-round selection for the New York Giants has been sighted at multiple sporting events throughout the season but most notably his appearance at John Cena's final Monday Night RAW matchup at Madison Square Garden got the most attention, He and his teammates took part in the choreographed tussles outside the ring.

The action comes just three weeks removed from his injury against the Philadelphia Eagles which required surgery to repair his dislocated ankle. Some fans didn't like that he was getting so involved in such a physical (yet unserious) activity while early in his recovery.

"You've only got one good leg, bro," WFAN's Chris McMonigle said on the station's programming Tuesday. "You just had a devastating injury and you're on your feet pushing professional wrestlers. Like that is so Jetsian... the optics are so bad."

Cam Skattebo replies to haters with sage advice about life during his injury recovery

That prompted Skattebo to publicly address those "concerns" with a message everyone can take some life advice away from.

"Aye, honestly if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on," the 2025 Peach Bowl MVP wrote. "I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life so I am doing things outside the box trying to find stuff to keep me happy. Enjoy the rest of y’all’s week and just don’t talk about me if you ain’t got nothing nice to say."

Skatt's got a good point. He's an adult and he knows what's best for him and his recovery but that doesn't mean he has to sulk in his home or at the Giants facility every day until next season. Granted, there is something to be said about the risk of participating in a WWE event but presumably the organizers and wrestlers were aware not to get too rough with Skattebo.

Let the man be happy. He's brought a lot of joy back to football and as long as he's taking care of his body and not putting anybody (especially himself) in actual harm's way, let Skatt be Skatt.
