The Sun Devils and Jayhawks have history.
Back in the early days of the Bobby Hurley era, before Arizona State ever even considered joining the Big 12, they scheduled a home-and-home series. Hurley's third season on the job saw his team upset Kansas in Allen Fieldhouse, 95-85. It was the first sign that Hurley was building something in the desert.
The next year, he doubled down by upsetting the Jayhawks out in the Valley, too. That time, Kansas entered as the top team in the rankings and fell 80-76. Both wins announced the Sun Devils as a bad moon rising on the West Coast.
Flash forward to today, and the two teams meet again for just the second time since then. The Jayhawks crushed Arizona State last year in their first ever conference matchup. Now, with Hurley widely expected to be let go after the season, Arizona State hosts 14th ranked Kansas in their last home game of the year.
Can Hurley get one last one over on the Jayhawks?
