The season started off so promising for the Sun Devils. They jumped out to an 8-0 record, their best start in the Willie Bloomquist era, and the eighth win came in run-rule fashion over then-No. 13 Oklahoma.
Since then, though, they've lost four straight. Oklahoma notched a walk-off win the next night to split the midweek series. Then Arizona State went winless in the Amegy Bank College Baseball series down in Arlington, losing to three straight ranked opponents: No. 4 Mississippi State, No. 20 Tennessee, and No. 23 Texas A&M.
There's no shame in losing to any of those programs, but it's time to start stacking wins again. They start off a weekend series at home against Loyola Marymount, who come into this weekend with a 5-10 record and having yet to win a game on the road. This feels like the perfect opportunity for the Sun Devils to get back in business.
