Arizona State will be looking to win back-to-back games for the first time since March 15 and 16 (vs. TCU) on Saturday against Big 12 foe Kansas. This is the first ever Big 12 home series for the program and it got off the a great start on Friday.
The Sun Devils clipped the Jayhawks' wings 9-2, getting the bats to return to their healthy firing prowess against Kansas pitcher Dominic Voegele. The sophomore right-hander was chased after 5.2 innings, allowing nine hits, walking one and striking out four.
Junior Ben Jacobs, however, had a more solid outing for ASU. He went 4.0 innings allowing just a single hit, walking seven, striking out eight and allowing just one unearned run on the night.
Never a doubt, Benny J.

After walking the first three batters, Jacobs gets a pair of punchouts bookending a great play by Contrades to get out of the jam unscathed.

Jacobs got five innings of solid relief from Jonah Giblin and Cole Carlon to hold onto the massive lead ASU's bats created.
That lead was mostly thanks to catcher Josiah Cromwick who hit two massive home runs on the night. They were his seventh and eighth of the season and accounted for nearly half of the team's run total.
Give it a poke, Crom!

The Devils combined for 12 hits on Friday compared to just four for Kansas. On Saturday they'll be looking to repeat that success and set up the program's first ever Big 12 sweep. ASU swept Gonzaga and Ohio State earlier this season in non-conference play.
