They're up again then they're down again. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions for Sun Devil fans as Arizona State dropped its third game of the season, and its first at home, in a 24-16 heartbreaker to Houston.
ASU, ranked No. 24 entering Week 9, has fallen out of the Associated Press Top 25 rankings for Week 10. After pulling off an incredible upset against then-No. 7 Texas Tech the week prior, the Sun Devils had earned their way back into good graces of AP voters.
Now with three losses and likely eliminated from Big 12 and College Football Playoff contention, ASU probably won't see a number next to their name for the remainder of the season.
Arizona State's fall makes room for new challengers in Week 10 AP poll
As Arizona State moves out of the rankings - not even receiving a single vote - two other Big 12 squads moved up. Houston is now the No. 22 team in the country, and deservedly so, while Utah has re-entered the conversation at No. 24.

The Big 12 now has five teams in the poll with all of them well in play for the conference title and at least one spot in the College Football Playoff.
Elsewhere, idle Ohio State retained its No. 1 spot and the rest of the Top 5 remain unchanged. The Buckeyes hemorrhaged first place votes, however, to No. 2 Indiana (11) and No. 3 Texas A&M (1).
The biggest risers were Cincinnati and No. 21 Michigan (both up four spots) while the biggest drop came from No. 18 Oklahoma (down five spots).
The projected Group of Five representative in the CFP has changed yet again with South Florida dropping out of the rankings after falling to Memphis. The Tigers (7-1) now sit at No. 25 with American Athletic Conference rival Navy (7-0) just behind them receiving 86 votes.
