The Sun Devils have endured an awful lot of losses on their roster in the past two weeks, but they finally got some good news. Late Wednesday night, they secured a commitment from 4-star power forward and local product Jaion Pitt.
Jaion Pitt, the No. 109 overall recruit in the country, has committed to Arizona State, a source tells @247Sports. https://t.co/HUQOhHgIZu

A star player at Bella Vista Prep in Scottsdale, Pitt played himself into a 4-star rating and ranks today as the fourth best prospect in the state and 20th best power forward in the nation. Ironically, he's the second-highest rated power forward in Arizona behind Koa Peat, who chose rival Arizona over Arizona State last week.
Overall, Pitt is ranked as the 109th best player in the nation by 247 Sports, though other recruiting outlets are a bit higher on him. Pitt was one of the highest ranked uncommitted prospects in the nation at the time he announced for Arizona State.
Standing at 6'7" and 220 pounds, with a monstrous 7' wingspan, Pitt has been described as a physical, high work ethic type of player who was a consistent double double player in high school. HIs play style and length will lend itself well on the defensive end, and some have already drawn comparisons to former fan favorite Zylan Cheatham.
Pitt joins a 2025 recruiting class that consists of Icelandic center Fridrik Leo, Texas power forward Kash Polk, and guard Trevor Best, who enrolled during winter break and actually played in a few games down the stretch this past season.
As the Sun Devils continue to lose players to the transfer portal, Bobby Hurley is set to add more players via the portal to complete his roster for next season. That said, expect Pitt to be one player that can come in and play significant minutes early on.
