Tough times have been easy to come by lately for Arizona State's men's basketball. Bobby Hurley openly admitted to failing his team, made more prescient by the ticking clock on his expiring contract, but the Sun Devils responded with a big win over Cincinnati.
Now, they have a shot to string together consecutive wins for the first time since beating Santa Clara in the Jack Jones Classic back in mid-December. It would also be the first time Arizona State has ever won consecutive Big 12 games since joining the conference.
Standing in their way: the UCF Knights. At one point this season, UCF looked like a juggernaut, ripping off 11 straight wins including one over then No. 17 Kansas. Since then, they're 3-3, falling into a bit of a rut. Even then, the Knights are 10-2 at home, where this game will be played.
This will be a tall task for the Sun Devils, but a win could go a long way towards boosting the morale of this team.
