It all comes down to this.

The Sun Devils' first ever series of Big 12 conference play has certainly been entertaining. Their late-game rally on Friday night came up just short, losing to TCU 3-2. But Arizona State's offense exploded in yesterday's game, crushing pitch after pitch to win 26-9.

Yes, you read that right.

Now, the series is all knotted up, and today's game will decide the winner. It's the kind of high stakes game that's perfect for a Sunday afternoon, even if Sun Devil fans will have to watch from Tempe as their team looks to get out of Texas with a pivotal series win over one of the conference's top teams.

It will be interesting to see which pitchers each team turns to in this crucial match. The Sun Devils had gotten into a routine of going with Jaden Alba on Sundays, as he had impressed early on this year, but he missed last week with an undisclosed injury.

Rohan Lettow got the start in Alba's place - an 11-4 win over Gonzaga that saw Lettow leave the game after just three innings - but it seems unlikely he'll play today after pitching one inning of relief in yesterday's win. Head coach Willie Bloomquist would surely turn to Alba if the sophomore is able to go.

As for TCU, they have yet to announce a starter either. They ran through six different pitchers in yesterday's game, pulling their starter after the first inning; no pitcher lasted more than 2.1 innings, an indicator of how electric the Sun Devil bats were. The Horned Frogs have to hope their starter can hold up today, as their bullpen will be fairly desolate after using so many arms on Saturday.

It all sets up for what should be a highly entertaining chess match between these two teams, both of whom stand as two of the top teams in the conference early on. A series win this weekend would go a long way for either program, but especially the Sun Devils as the road team. Be sure to catch the action today.
