Arizona State has a lot to play for when it visits Kansas State on Sunday afternoon, despite what the Big 12 standings say.

The Sun Devils will be looking to avenge their 71-70 loss to the Wildcats earlier this month in Tempe, Arizona, and aiming to avoid a season sweep in their first visit to Manhattan, Kansas, since 1982.

ASU (12-14 overall, 3-12 Big 12) also will be attempting to snap its season-long, six-game losing streak and win for the first time since Jan. 28 (70-68 at Colorado).

Kansas State (13-13, 7-8), meanwhile, is hoping to bounce back from a rough Rocky Mountain road trip — losses at BYU (80-65 on Feb. 15) and Utah (75-69 on Feb. 17). The Wildcats were outrebounded 92-59 in the two games, including a -23 rebounding margin against the Utes.

Prior to the back-to-back setbacks, K-State had won six games in a row — including the one-point victory over ASU on Feb. 4 at Desert Financial Arena. The Wildcats trailed by 16 points in the first half in a game that ended with Sun Devils freshman Jayden Quaintance missing two free throws in the final seconds that could have tied or won the game.

Senior swingman BJ Freeman continues to lead the Sun Devils in scoring, averaging 13.7 points on 42.1% shooting — including a team-high 53 made 3-pointers on 35.6% shooting.

Senior guard Alston Mason averages 12.9 points and a team-high 3.8 assists per game, while senior forward Basheer Jihad adds 11.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

Freshman guard Joson Sanon and senior guard Adam Miller both average 10.4 points per game, and Quaintance adds nine points, a team-high 7.9 rebounds, and a Big 12-best 2.7 blocks per game.

Senior wing David N'Guessan leads the Wildcats in points (12.7) and rebounds (seven) per game while shooting a team-high 63.3%. Junior guard Brendan Hausen adds 12 points per game and leads K-State in 3-point shooting (40.3%), and senior wing Coleman Hawkins chips in with 10.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
