Since the 2025-26 NCAA Women's Basketball season ended on Sunday in Phoenix, with the UCLA Bruins winning their first NCAA National Championship, the transfer portal opened the following day.
The Arizona State women's basketball program officially announced its additions of guards Ruby Whitehorn and, most recently, Rashunda Jones, on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
To add to this, two of the three Sun Devils' incoming freshmen, guards Averie Lower (No. 58) and Londyn Parker (No. 99), were ranked in SportsCenter Next's Top 100 players of the 2026 class.
During her junior year with the Michigan State Spartans, Jones averaged 11.7 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.3 steals per game and appeared in the NCAA Tournament, ending with the team's elimination to Oklahoma in the second round.
Additionally, according to Gabriele Gill for msuspartans.com, she is known for making an impact on and off the court while having one of her best seasons with the team.
As a point guard, Jones' play style is known for bringing in the leadership and the defensive intensity, which head coach Molly Miller loves, and her scoring.
"I think coming to MSU has allowed me to play more freely. When I was at Purdue, I was sort of trapped in a position where I was just a facilitator and had to play a certain way. I think here I'm able to play my game," Jones said, via the Spartans' women's basketball program website.
In the first two seasons of her collegiate career, Jones played for the Purdue Boilermakers, where she was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman team and made an impact on both ends of the court.
Now, she has the opportunity to continue to shine on the court and learn from Miller and the coaching staff, who are coming off one of the program's most successful seasons, in Tempe.
On her Instagram story, Miller reposted the Sun Devils' post of the addition of Jones, stating, "This is going to be fun."

Two of the players, forwards McKinna Brackens and Deborah Davenport, announced that their returns to Arizona State in the upcoming season.
Each shared gratitude for the opportunity to build sisterhood as teammates and to form everlasting friendships while punching their ticket to the NCAA Women's Tournament for the first time since 2019.
As the 'Portal to Paradise' continues for the next few weeks, Miller and the coaching staff will look to continue structuring the roster for the upcoming season.
