Earlier in the day on Tuesday, Arizona State got some massive transfer portal news with the transfer of St. Mary's star Paulius Murauskas. The Lithuanian stretch big was rated a top 10 portal player and chose to follow Randy Bennett to Tempe despite pursuit from the likes of Louisville and Duke.

Just a few hours later, Murauskas' teammate decided to do the same.

Dillan Shaw committed to St. Mary's a year ago as a 4-star freshman, a rare big get out of the high school ranks for the Gaels. A sharpshooting wing, Shaw became a starter early on for Bennett. He finished this past season averaging 7.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and nearly a block and a steal per game.

Shaw's biggest strengths come from deep, where he shot 41.6% this past year. He also finished third on the team in defensive win shares, just behind Murauskas. Shaw profiles as a three-and-D wing who gained experience as a secondary ball-handler down the stretch of this past season.

Between Murauskas and Shaw, Bennett has brought in two of his very best players from last year's Gaels squad. Add in JRob Croy, a 4-star combo guard from the high school ranks who flipped from St. Mary's after Bennett's hire, and the migration to Tempe sends a clear message about the pull the new Arizona State coach has.

Bennett also previously secured transfers from point guard Joel Foxwell and small forward Emmanuel Innocenti, both of whom faced off against Murauskas and Shaw in the West Coast conference last year. Bennett seems to now be one piece away from a full starting five.

The Sun Devils' starter at the five spot this past year, Massamba Diop, also remains in the portal. He's taken visits to Gonzaga and St. John's, the two schools believed to be in contention for his services, but it's fair to wonder if Diop may consider returning to Arizona State amidst this influx of talent.
