After yesterday's spotlight on offensive lineman Shawn Lauvao, we look at the career of another valuable offensive lineman in George Fadok as the countdown moves to 66 days until the season opens.

A three year starter for the Sun Devils, George started his career in 1975 for the historic 11-0 Devils team that took home the Fiesta Bowl win over Nebraska, finishing No. 2 in the nation. George played the 1975 and 1976 seasons at left guard before moving to right tackle for his senior season in 1977. Despite not being named a team captain, Fadok showed incredible leadership in guiding the Devils to a 9-2 regular season record before falling to Penn State 42-30 in the 1978 Fiesta Bowl.

In recognition of his great senior season, George earned first-team All-WAC honors and was named an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press, capping off a versatile career in Tempe.

George's career did not continue to the NFL, instead hearing the call to serve in the U.S. Navy for nearly 25 years, reaching the rank of Captain. George continues following his naval call, most recently as a senior naval science instructor and Naval Junior Reserve Officer Corps instructor.

To this day, George still bleeds maroon and gold, hyping up the Devils before this year's Peach Bowl against Texas.

George showed that leadership titles and a professional career are not the only aspects worth honoring. His versatility and team-centric play make him our pick for today's spotlight series entry.
