Key No. 2 will be new transfer QB Emory Jones living up to expectations.

Jones committed to Arizona State in early May after playing in 37 games for the Florida Gators over the past four seasons.

The 6-foot-2 dual-threat quarterback was in the Top 60 of high school recruits and had originally committed to Ohio State before changing his mind and becoming a Gator.

In 2021 Jones started all 12 games and completed 64.7% of his passes for 19 touchdowns and 2,734 yards. He added 749 yards and 4 scores on the ground to complete a fairly impressive season.

He is entering a QB situation that was in major flux after Jayden Daniels left in the transfer portal. He will compete with Paul Tyson and Trenton Bourguet for the starting role, but considering neither of his competitors have started a college game it seems incredibly likely Jones will be the starting quarterback when the season rolls around.

If Jones continues to play at his 2021 level he will give the Sun Devils the chance to win plenty of games.
