Topping the list of Arizona State football recruits is incoming running back Tevin White from North Stafford HS in Stafford, VA.

A 4-star recruit ranked 20th among running backs, White is joining a group that includes sophomores Daniyel Ngata and George Hart III as well as fellow freshman Deonce Elliot.

Ngata currently figures to be the headliner of the position group, but White does bring a lot of skills that point to him being a featured all-around back sooner rather than later.

Currently listed at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, White looks like he can play at a much higher weight while maintaining his big-play abilities and breakaway speed. If he does put on some weight he might have the edge over the 5-foot-9 Ngata in certain situations.

Brian Dohn of 24/7 Sports has predicted this for White:

"Multi-year starter at Top 20 program. Day 3 draft ability. Scouting Report from 24/7 Sports"

White has the speed to gain the edge or alternatively gain separation on routes and is well set up to play in a variety of roles at running back because of that. His size will only make him a more attractive passing target when put out wide or as a check-down option.

The freshmen chose Arizona State after receiving a total of twenty Division 1 offers including PAC-12 rival Washington State and the defending national champion University of Georgia.

The Sun Devils are lucky to have landed this recruit and it is likely he sees playing time in the fall, if not as the feature back as part of a squad rotation with Ngata and Hart III.
