10. California Golden Bears (8-22, 3-15 Pac-12) LW: 11

With the end of the regular season and the beginning of postseason play in Sin City, we usually have a clear picture of who is likely to take it all.

This year, that couldn’t be any further from the truth, and it’s all summed up in one sentence. The California Golden Bears are one of the hottest Pac-12 teams heading into the tournament.

Yes, you read that right. The Bears, who started 0-15 in conference play, have a shot to advance in the tournament.

Now, realistically, they’re no threat to win the whole thing. But, the Bears have won their last three games, and it is March, after all.

Behind a stellar 24-point performance from Connor Vanover, the Bears closed the season against their arch rival, Stanford, with a win at Maples Pavilion. Ever since their effort against Arizona State, Cal has found its groove.

Coming into the tournament, the Bears are slotted at the No. 12 seed, and will have to face another hot team in the Colorado Buffaloes. The Bears aren’t projected to win this game, but teams are typically dangerous when they have nothing to lose.

Expect a valiant effort from Cal in the T-Mobile Arena come this Wednesday, as they hope to add more wins to their late-season run.
