2. Washington Huskies (8-4) LW: 5

While Washington comes in at No. 2 in these rankings, it is clear the Huskies are still well behind the league-leading Sun Devils.

The Huskies enter the final game of non-conference play with a record of 8-4 with an unblemished standing of 6-0 at home. Of the team’s four losses on the season, three have come against teams ranked at the time.

While it’s easy to blame the tough competition for the losses, Washington struggled to stay competitive in the matchups with double-digit losses to both No. 11 Auburn and No. 13 Virginia Tech.

The eight wins may look good on paper, but the wins have come after struggles in the first half in the majority of the victories.

The struggles were evident in the team’s latest victory over Sacramento State, where the team shot 33 percent in the first half. The low-scoring output has been a constant trend as the Huskies currently average 71.3 points per game while only scoring over 80 points twice on the season.

The duo of Jaylen Nowell and Noah Dickerson are the lone pair averaging double-digits as they sit at an average of 18 and 15.5 respectively.

Nowell and Dickerson do more than just score for the Huskies as the former is tied for the team-high in assists with 34 while shooting 45 percent from three, while the latter leads the team with 79 total rebounds.

Washington will round out their non-conference schedule against Cal State Fullerton before beginning Pac-12 play against in-state rival Washington State.
