6. Arizona Wildcats (7-4) LW: 5

Arizona only had one game this past week – one it would like to forget.

In a contest that could have been a good shift in momentum heading into conference play, the Wildcats found themselves on the wrong end of a 58-49 decision to Baylor.

Against the Bears, Wildcats guard Brandon Randolph was the only player to score in double digits, but a shortage in offensive production isn’t the program’s biggest concern moving forward. It is a staggering lack of effort displayed on the boards.

The Wildcats were outrebounded 50-19 on Saturday, with no Arizona player collecting more than five. It was Baylor’s Mark Vital who did a majority of damage on the glass, collecting 16 rebounds on his own, three less than Arizona had as a team.

With only two games left until conference play, Arizona will need to find a solution to its rebounding woes quickly.

This week, coach Sean Miller’s team will get a couple of chances to do just that in games against Montana and UC Davis, opponents Arizona is capable of winning against by a large margin.

Some college basketball aficionados, fans and media alike, expected Arizona to fall in the middle of the Pac-12 standings come March, an underwhelming finish by standards previously set by Miller.  But if the offensive inconsistencies and drastic rebounding disparities continue, the Wildcats could find themselves finishing much lower.
