When it comes to passing defense, Fresno State has the edge over Arizona State as the Bulldogs are ranked 30th nationally and ASU is ranked 82nd.
Fresno State had four defensive backs earn All-MW honors with Anthoula Kelly making First Team, JuJu Hughes and Mike Bell making Second Team and Jaron Bryant making honorable mention.
Bell, Hughes and Kelly each caught three interceptions with Bryant bringing in one interception. In total, the Bulldogs caught the second-most interceptions in the country with 17.
Arizona State had one defensive back earn All-Pac-12 honors and that was safety Aashari Crosswell who was named as an honorable mention.
After struggling to come down with many interceptions early on in the season, Crosswell ended up leading the team with three interceptions with cornerback Chase Lucas right behind him with two interceptions.
Crosswell also led the team with nine pass breakups with cornerback Kobe Williams tallying eight and Lucas finishing with four.
The Bulldogs feature one of the deepest secondaries in the nation, but it’ll be interesting to see how they match up against a potent offense in ASU.
With that said, Fresno State gets the nod here to complete the defensive sweep.
