Here are some of the biggest takeaways for ASU volleyball this season.

The 2018 season was overall a good one for ASU volleyball. In Sanja Tomasevic’s second season with the program, the Sun Devils finished the season 14-18 (5-15 Pac-12) and had multiple upsets wins on the year. At one point, after defeating No. 15 Washington, the Sun Devils were ranked 25th in the AVCA coaches poll after starting Pac-12 play 4-2.

ASU struggled in conference play due to difficulty of Pac-12 teams, but finished the season strong with an upset victory of USC. The Sun Devils finished non-conference 9-3 and should look to continue dominating non-conference opponents next season. The struggles of Pac-12 play included an 11-game losing streak, but with a more experienced group next year, the Sun Devils should have an easier time overcoming adversity.

The team finished with only three seniors on the roster, so next season, the depth of the group includes lots of girls with experience. The departure of senior transfer Alyse Ford will hurt the group, but there will be many options for the Sun Devils to turn to. Among those players include junior Ivana Jeremic, sophomre Claire Kovensky and sophomore Megan Beedie.
