ASU Football vs. Oregon State: Broadcast Information
By Sam Ficarro
ASU football puts their unbeaten home record on the line Saturday night when they host Oregon State as both teams seek their first Pac-12 win of the season.
After their first road trip of the season, Arizona State returns home to host Oregon State in their first conference home game of the season.
The last time the Sun Devils played in Sun Devil Stadium they defeated No. 15 Michigan State and entered the AP poll for the first time since 2015.
Since then, Arizona State has dropped back-to-back road games against San Diego State and No. 10 Washington and have fallen to 2-2 and 0-1 in Pac-12 play.
Last week against Washington, Arizona State got off to the best start imaginable getting an interception on the first play of the game, capitalizing off that with a one-yard touchdown run from Eno Benjamin.
After that touchdown, Arizona State got a couple of a field goals and but didn’t score another touchdown until late in the fourth quarter when they were trailing 27-13.
While they didn’t allow Huskies running back Myles Gaskin to rush for over 100 yards, the team tallied 171 rushing yards with quarterback Jake Browning throwing for 202 yards.
Washington’s balanced attack was difficult to stop for the Sun Devils as the defense only recorded one sack and couldn’t put pressure on Browning.

Browning did an excellent job moving in the pocket and making plays with his legs. To go with the 202 passing yards, Browning threw three touchdowns and zero interceptions.
For Arizona State, after throwing the ball heavily the previous two weeks, emphasized the running game rushing the ball 40 times and throwing it 27 times.
Benjamin had the first breakout game of his collegiate career rushing 104 yards on 26 carries and the aforementioned score.
Backup tailback Trelon Smith also received his first significant workload of his career rushing the ball eight times for 45 yards.
In the passing game though, it was very quiet. Quarterback Manny Wilkins only threw for 102 yards and one rushing touchdown.
Wide receiver N’Keal Harry finished with five catches for 20 yards. His biggest play with a 42-yard punt return in the fourth quarter to set up ASU’s second touchdown.
Against the Beavers, Arizona State will look to have a much balanced attack offensively.
Oregon State enters this week’s game with a 1-3 (0-1 Pac-12) record coming off a 35-14 home loss to Arizona last week.
The Beavers defense was gashed last week allowing 594 total yards of offense with Wildcats running back J.J. Taylor rushing for 284 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.
OSU quarterback Conor Blount played well for Oregon State completing 17-of-24 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns.
The problem was the lack of a potent running game as tailback Jermar Jefferson finished with 19 carries for 82 yards. In total, Arizona outgained Oregon State 594-238.
Arizona State’s offense should have no problem putting up points against Oregon State, who ranks 120th out of 129 FBS teams in total defense.
The key for the Sun Devils will be to stop Oregon State’s running game. If they can contain Jefferson, the pass rush of ASU should be able to get to Blount and create some takeaways.
After Colorado’s convincing win over UCLA Friday night, this is about as close as to a must-win for ASU if they want to stay in the Pac-12 South race.
