ASU Football: Power ranking every 2018 opponent
By Carson Field
4. Oregon
ASU’s upset win against Oregon last year set the tone for the Sun Devils’ winning season, but things could be much different this year when they travel to Eugene.
Justin Herbert returns as one of the premier quarterbacks in the Pac-12 and college football as a whole to lead the Ducks. Sure, Royce Freeman is no longer in the backfield, but this team has what most prior Oregon squads have lacked — a defense.
Oregon’s front is one of the best in the Pac-12, particularly at the defensive end position, and the unit returns seven starters.
Although it is Mario Cristobal’s first year at the helm, it is likely all the chemistry woes will be resolved by the time ASU squares off against Oregon.
