After splitting Friday’s doubleheader in Corvallis, ASU softball defeated Oregon State in a 15-inning marathon to clinch the series victory.

Hopefully, Arizona State was able to re-schedule their flight back to Tempe because this one was a long one.

After a tough loss yesterday, the seventh-ranked Sun Devils defeated Oregon State 2-1 in 15 innings.

What might be more amazing than the game being more than double of a normal game is that ASU’s star ace G Juarez pitched all 15 innings.

The sophomore proved why she was the national pitcher of the week giving up only one earned run and another 15 Ks to her season. Juarez total strikeouts this season is now 201.

The play was pretty stale for both teams. Arizona State would score first in the third thanks to an RBI double by Texas transfer Jade Gortarez.

Things were pretty quiet until the seventh inning with Oregon State sophomore Alyssa Pelegrin slipped one into left field to tie things up.

After eight long innings of scoreless softball, Nichole Chilson was able to send Breezy Wise home on a sac fly and secure the victory for the Sun Devils.

Arizona State is now 8-2 in Pac-12 which is good for second place. Since their loss to Washington, the Sun Devils have not given up more than four runs in any game.

Things won’t get easier for ASU.
