G Juarez continued her breakout season Friday night with her first career no-hitter as ASU softball swept a doubleheader versus North Dakota State and BYU.

Dominance.

That’s all that needs to be said when it comes to G Juarez.

The sophomore pitched a no-hitter through seven innings with 11 strikeouts in ASU’s 7-0 victory over BYU. Her ERA is now 0.86 and hasn’t allowed an earned run in 72 innings.

After walking nonchalantly off the field after the no-hitter, Juarez talked about how she didn’t even realize she threw until the game was over.

“Someone came up behind me and told me about it and I was like ‘Oh wow,'” Juarez said. “I didn’t really notice it, to be honest with you.”

After winning national player of the week last week and winning three straight Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week awards, Juarez has the chance to earn once more as she is becoming one of the most dominant pitchers in all of college softball.

Despite the multiple accolades, Juarez still sees this as a team effort. “It’s not really about me,” Juarez said. “There huge amazing honors, and I wouldn’t be getting without my team behind me.”

Her eye is still on one prize. “I haven’t done anything until I won the national championship.”

Head coach Trisha Ford praised Juarez for her efforts as a player and a person. “She is just fun to watch,” Ford said. “She’s growing up in front of our eyes.. I’m just impressed by the person that she’s becoming.”

The Sun Devils did have plenty of offense in this game as well, scoring seven runs off seven hits. One of the more impressive at-bats was from sophomore Breezy Wise. The sophomore hit a home run in the fifth coming off the bench.

Arizona State also had a game before against North Dakota State where they won 10-2 in a five-inning mercy. Breanna Macha had a stellar performance pitching on the complete five innings while only giving up two home runs in the first two innings.

Sophomore shortstop Jade Gortarez continues to show off her power this season hitting her sixth home run of the year in the second. Nichole Chilson had three RBIs despite not earning a hit.
