ASU women’s basketball begin their Los Angeles road trip Friday versus USC with the Sun Devils aiming to extend their three-game winning streak.

The 17-7 Arizona State women’s basketball team will trek out to Los Angeles this weekend, to play the Trojans of USC Friday and the UCLA Bruins Sunday.

ASU is just holding on to a spot in the AP Top 25 ranked at No. 25 in the country. USC is unranked and have lost their last two games.

The Sun Devils have been dominant at home this season, holding an 11-1 record inside of Wells Fargo Arena. Although there 5-4 away record has haunted them this season, as they have lost three of their last four away games.

USC is led by head coach Mark Trakh, who coached the Trojans from 2005-09, and is now back after coaching at New Mexico State.

On the court, the player to watch in the Galen Center is senior forward Kristen Simon, who leads the team in points and rebounds averaging nearly 18 and nine a game.

As for the Sun Devils, Kianna Ibis has been the go-to player for them this season. Her match-up with Simon Friday night will be one definitely worth watching.

The USC offense may be one of the most electric in the Pac-12 averaging nearly 70 points per game.

Charli Turner Thorne spoke on the Trojans earlier this week.

“Their top five is as good as in the conference. They have three of the top five scorers in their starting lineup, their individual offense in insane,” Turner Thorne said. “They’re a veteran team, we’re both fighting for post season… we both have a lot to play for.”

After dropping two games to UCLA last week, the Trojans left the weekend very unhappy.

“They’re going to be extremely hungry,” Turner Thorne said.
