ASU Swimming will compete in their final dual meet of the season on Saturday when they host rival Arizona in Tempe at 1 p.m. MT.

The men’s team is coming off one of the biggest victories in program history when they knocked off the three-time reigning national champion Texas Longhorns last week by a score of 162-138.

The Sun Devils rose to No. 7 in the latest CSCAA Top 25 Poll as a result of this win, and will look to Zach Poti, Christian Lorenz, and the latest Pac-12 Swimmer of the Week Cameron Craig for repeat performances against Arizona.

The three men combined for five individual race victories vs Texas, with Poti winning the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes, Lorenz winning the 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes, and Craig winning the 100-yard freestyle.

Diver Youssef Selim also had a good outing against Texas, scoring a combined seven points between the 1- and 3-meter diving events.

The 18th-ranked Wildcats are looking to rebound after a tough 143-155 loss to Texas, and are seeking strong performances from freshman Brooks Fail and junior Matthew Salerno, who both took home victories against the Longhorns.

The women’s team could not pull off the same upset as the men, as they were defeated by fifth-ranked Texas 178-121.

Despite the loss, the Sun Devils saw some encouraging performances that they will try to build upon against 22nd-ranked Arizona.

Silja Kansakoski and Marlies Ross took home victories in the 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes respectively, and Chloe Isleta took home two second place finishes in the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes.

The divers also had a very strong showing against Texas, as Frida Kaellgren scored 13 points total between the 1- and 3-meter dive events, and Ashley McCool scoring seven points total in the same events.

Arizona is looking to turn things around after they were also defeated by Texas last week by a score of 179-120.  They will be led by sophomore Hannah Cox, who netted a team high two victories against the Longhorns in the 500- and 1000-yard freestyles.
