ASU Volleyball: Sun Devils swept in Salt Lake City

The ASU volleyball team lost once again tonight, marking the 17th straight loss for the Sun Devils.
The Sun Devils fell for the 17th time in a row tonight, this time at the hands of the Utah Utes, diminishing ASU’s record to 10-19 overall and 0-17 in conference.
This is the team’s second loss to the Utes this season. The first time, the Sun Devils won a set, but this time in Salt Lake City, ASU was swept 3-0.
Utah got off to a hot 9-5 start in the first set, which included three kills and a service ace for Adora Anae. The Utes controlled the Sun Devils for the rest of the set, as they eventually won the game, 25-21.

ASU started the second set on the right track, leading 10-7, but the team was not able to hold its lead. Utah went on a 9-0 run to take control of the set, which ultimately led to the Utes taking the set, 25-19.
While ASU contested the Utes for much of the first two sets, Utah dominated in set three. After ASU started with the lead at 3-2, the Utes gained momentum and went on a 6-0 run and a 5-0 run later in the game. Utah won the third game by a score of 25-15, clinching the match victory at 3-0.
ASU fell to 0-17 in the Pac-12 with the loss, while the Utes sit tied for third in conference at 11-6.
The Sun Devils still have three chances to get its first conference win. The next match for ASU Volleyball is Saturday night against Colorado.
Colorado defeated ASU in three sets the last time the teams played, which was in October. In that match, the Sun Devils hit for a measly .168 hitting percentage with 18 errors, ultimately leading to the Colorado sweep.
